Mumbai Attack--who are the terrorists?
Wilfred D'Costa

The live telecast of the siege of Taj Hotel in Mumbai by TV channels across the world shocked everyone. How can such terrorist act for days take place in a civilised world? The attack destroyed the 5-star hotel owned by the Indian capitalist giant Tata. The terrorists left a trial of blood and over 200 dead bodies and over 400 badly wounded.
While the media is merely forwarding the Indian government's handouts accusing Pakistan and LeT, there are a few murmurs on the net questioning the Indian-US establishment viewpoint.
The public response has largely been in expressing outrage against the politicians; demanding war on Pakistan; or at most, peace calls to hold hands in unity or lighting candles. Thanks to the corporate media, there is nearly nil analysis or questioning of the governmental propaganda!
Too many questions over so-called "terrorist encounters" in recent times lend a lot of credence to these doubts (similar to the criticisms of 9/11 by Michael Moore, Mike Stewart and others):
* The involvement of some army officials in a series of bomb blasts by the Hindutva right-wing fascist group was being exposed and investigated by the Mumbai ATS (anti terrorist squad). The person heading this squad was Mumbai ATS chief Hemant Karkare.
*He had also earlier traced the terror email sent to media houses, minutes before the blasts in Ahmedabad this year and was interrogating the American Kenneth Haywood from whose IP address the threatening email had originated. Even as Haywood was being interrogated with full media coverage of the issue and ordered not to leave the country without clearance from the investigators, Haywood escaped from Mumbai to New Delhi and flew to the US using his own passport through Indian immigration! "Mumbai Police are "shocked" that US national Kenneth Haywood, whose computer was allegedly hacked to send the July 26 Ahmedabad terror email, managed to leave India with his wife and two daughters despite a look-out notice for him at all Indian airports."
* Hemant Karkare was targetted by the Hindutva right-wing party BJP and its frontal organisations as anti-Indian who 'succeeded in branding soldiers as terrorists'.
Hemant Karkare was allegedly killed by terrorists in the Taj encounter.
One of the two Indian men, Mukhtar Ahmed arrested for illegally buying mobile phone cards used by the gunmen in the Mumbai attacks was a counterinsurgency police officer in Kashmir who may have been on an undercover mission, security officials said demanding his release on Dec.6.
There were already 7 bomb attacks across mainland India only in 2008 (excluding Kashmir & North eastern states). Are these terror acts by the secret police with the help of Mossad & CIA? If yes, then the future of South Asia really looks scary if one knows the track record of Mossad.
It is a known fact that the Indian defense establishment is having a close tie-up with Israel.
Israel is the second largest supplier of arms and defense equipment to India. "Though governments do not reveal details about defence deals, it's estimated that Israel is set to replace Russia as India's second-largest defence supplier." The left party CPM had condemned this unholy alliance - "India is seen more and more as a collaborator with Israel. India accords priority to Israel as a partner to fight against terrorism, when Israel is responsible for state terrorism, violence and aggression." And Israeli security companies have been coming in a big way for providing security to big corporations and training our police and intelligence!
Andrew G. Marshall in Creating an "Arc of Crisis": The Destabilization of the Middle East and Central Asia - The Mumbai Attacks and the “Strategy of Tension” rightly begins with: The recent attacks in Mumbai, while largely blamed on Pakistan’s state-sponsored militant groups, represent the latest phase in a far more complex and long-term “strategy of tension” in the region; being employed by the Anglo-American-Israeli Axis to ultimately divide and conquer the Middle East and Central Asia. The aim is destabilization of the region, subversion and acquiescence of the region’s countries, and control of its economies, all in the name of preserving the West’s hegemony over the “Arc of Crisis.”
'Curiously, all those who urge war and strikes and reprisal do so in the language of masculinity. “Do we have the balls to attack?” is the dominant talk in urban homes today.'
The present attacks in Mumbai and the possibilities of India attacking Pakistan (with the help of US and Israel) will only wreak havoc in the region and boost the arm sales of US and Israel.
